2005 Oregon State Quarter
The obverse (heads) design features the familiar image of George Washington by John Flanagan, used on the quarter since 1932.
The reverse features a depiction of Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the United States, including Wizard Island and Watchman and Hillman Peaks.
Crater Lake was chosen as Oregon's iconic symbol for the quarter due to its natural beauty and status as the deepest lake in the U.S., formed by the collapse of Mount Mazama.
The Oregon quarter was the 33rd coin released in the State Quarter series, issued on June 6, 2005.
