2021 George Washington Crossing the Delaware Quarter

The obverse (heads) side of the coin features an updated bust of George Washington, returning to a design similar to the original Washington quarter first struck in 1932.

The reverse depicts General George Washington leading his troops through the ice-choked Delaware River prior to the Battle of Trenton in 1776, a significant event during the American Revolutionary War.

This specific design filled the gap between the end of the America the Beautiful Quarters series and the beginning of the American Women Quarters program.
